ManilvaManilva is a smaller resort area west of Estepona with a truly rural feel. Although still maintaining the old-world Andalusian style it is currently one of the fastest growing areas on theMalaga coastline. It is actually two for one, Manilva being the inland village and Sabinillas on the Coast. This lovely unspoilt village is surrounded by a thriving agricultural scene and apart from great fruit and vegetables it is in fact one of the best grape growing areas with several vineyards which produce some excellent wines. One of the vineyards belongs to Malaga’s famous son and well-known actor, Antonio Banderas. It is also worth taking a trip further inland and discovering some beautiful countryside and pretty villages such as Casares with its white-washed houses and Moorish Castle. Continue on up through the Sierra Bermeja mountains and you’ll see some really wonderful scenery and breath-taking views. Along the coastal area the beaches are good and there is the Puerto de la Duquesa Marina. The golferswill no doubt enjoy the long-established La Duquesa Golf Course.(Sea views free !) If you’re coming to visit here remember that the nearest airport is Gibraltar – only fifteen minutes away.But more importantly for visitors looking to make a home here on the Malaga coast this is one of the least expensive options.
