Marbella-Shopping and a Visit to the Puerto Banus Shops

If you’re staying in this area then you’re spoiled for choice when it comes to Marbella-Shopping with …

… La Cañada Commercial Centre

… Marbella-Shopping - Old Town

… and Puerto Banus

… all completely different … and entertaining places to while away a very pleasant couple of hours.

La Cañada at the back of Marbella on the Ojen road is a super-modern shopping centre which in fact was awarded the 1st prize for Best Shopping Park a few years ago. If you cannot find it here then is doesn’t exist ! The place is huge … 200 shops and still growing !

It has the usual food court and cinemas plus several other large stores such as Intersport and Leroy Merlin (household and d.i.y. goods) Disabled access is good with a special underground parking area and lift to all floors … but the best of all is that in July and August it is a great place to wander around and do your Marbella-Shopping in the air-conditioned cool and escape the heat of the day.

Second stop on the list is Marbella Old Town and what could be better than a stroll along the pretty, narrow, cobbled streets of the old quarter in Marbella … browsing through the designer boutiques and wonderful shoe shops.

There’s more than a sprinkling of coffee shops, gourmet restaurants and tapa bars here too … so if ´himself` would rather not ´do` the shops then this is the script … make your way up to Orange Square, a charming, tree filled square in the old town … then, buy him a newspaper and a coffee … and park him in a shady spot and you can (with a free conscience) hit the shops for an hour or so …

… and … last stop … if you’re lucky enough to have the budget and are into designer labels then a visit to the shops in Puerto Banus is also a must ! You’ll see Armani, Versace, Dior, Loewe and Dolce & Gabbana to name just a few.

Plus in Puerto Banus we have El Corte Ingles … the most famous shopping name in Spain …… over one hundred years old and by far the biggest Spanish retail chain.

The El Corte Ingles stores are really up-market … with international boutiques, travel agencies, art galleries and the Gourmet Club, which is by the way the place to visit for that extra special gift from Spain … … and … you can buy your newspaper, have your hair cut, get your shoes repaired and even purchase your winning lottery ticket … all under the same roof !

Don’t forget the name … El Corte Ingles.

(Also in - Mijas Costa - Fuengirola - Málaga)

Summer hours are 10.30 to 10.30 and in July and August you’ll have the added benefit of seven day shopping.

There’s also plenty to interest the men here in Puerto Banus … lines of super luxury cars on show plus all sizes of yachts … and they can even take a 45 minute cruise along the coast whilst you’re having fun trying to reach the limit on the credit card ! Is this good or what?
